The new Dawson Street Pub… coming soon
I jumped the gun a bit on the re-opening of Dawson Street Pub (Dawson & Cresson, Manayunk). Last night’s gig was for invited guests only - it should be ready for business next week some time.
Owner Dave Wilby, his family and other supporters have done a helluva job transforming the place. The re-re-re-re-painted wood paneling is gone, replaced by stained hardwood. The bar is mahogany. A new hardwood floor is on the way. The draft system is new and enlarged (12 taps plus 3 beer engines). The kitchen isn’t finished, yet, but they’re serious about amping up the menu, too.
A grand opening party is slated for September. Stay tuned.
