This week’s column
Take a walk down the aisle at your local distributor, and you can’t help but notice the Christmas beer selection is growing. Yesterday, I was stuck behind an Origlio delivery truck and noticed it was sporting a huge advertisement for its excellent Xmas selection (with the catchy slogan, “Beer is the new wine”). Just 30 years ago, the segment was non-existent; now, I’m hustling to meet a deadline for an entire book (to be published in ‘08 by Rizzoli) devoted to the subject.
In the meantime, this week’s column is a look at where it all started. Then, over the next week or two, I’ll be adding more Christmas beer here.
