Head to Fairmount Tuesday night
Just got a note from Cameron @ Shangy’s, who notes that the Art Museum area will host at least two very good reasons to crawl over to Fairmount Avenue.
The Belgian Cafe (21st & Green) will be pouring a pin of port cask-aged JW Lees, along with Harviestoun Old Engine Oil and Bitter & Twisted. That’s pay as you go, so just drop in.
Meanwhile, Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewing will be bringing along at least a dozen drafts, including Cuvee de Cardoz and one-offs, to the Bishop’s Collar (24th & Fairmount), from 6-8 p.m., and then over to St. Stephen’s Green (17th & Green) till 10 p.m.
Meanwhile at the other end of town…
On Tuesday night, the Royal Tavern (937 E. Passyunk Ave., Bella Vista) continues its 7th anniversary party with a Burger and Beer night. Check out this tap list:
- Sly Fox Saison Brune
- Stoudt’s Smooth Hoperator IPA
- Founder’s Breakfast Stout
- Yards Brawler
- Unibroue Ephemere Apple
- Sixpoint Brownstone
- PBC Walt Wit
- Reading Pilsner
And, in H-U-G-E news, Hawthorne Cafe (937 E. Passyunk Ave, Bella Vista) - the new, mega-bottle shop - is slated to open this week. Among other touches, they’ll be filling growlers to go.
